Visions
In honor of our son Master Mitt-Chai Lenix, the Mitt Lenix Hero Fund has been setup as a Non Profit Corporation in conjunction with the family and friends of the Lenix Family to keep alive the legacy of our son’s giving and caring ways, along with his desire to build a more peaceful world!
Mission
To help those who are seeking to help themselves, by giving them the tools and assistance to becoming the best they can be. To provide a service to the community to continue the legacy of positivity and giving to create a better world. To demonstrate love and compassion in the true spirit of Martial Arts.
Please Help
Over the years many students have passed through the doors of UNIVERSAL MARTIAL ARTS and have embraced a positive direction in life. Throughout Master Mitt's lifetime he personally taught and mentored 100's of students and showed love and compassion to countless more in our community and throughout the world.
Our Impact
Dear Family, Friends, and All,
We want to thank everyone for the tremendous outpouring of love and support that you have shown to us and for the generous donations that have been sent in to keep Master Mitt's Legacy alive. We thank you and want you to know that the Hero Fund is fully operational and began helping others in Master Mitt's name within the first week after his untimely death.
2012 *The first person to receive a scholarship from the Mitt Lenix Hero fund is a 10-year-old girl named Tasia. Tasia has had a rough life, with a father in prison and having found her mother dead of an overdose, her life was headed nowhere fast. Then a soldier in the US Army and his family took her in as a ward of the court. They have been showing her the love and support that she so desperately needed. We decided to help them help her and have selected her to receive the very first scholarship in honor of our son. Scholarship for 1 Year of Martial Arts classes $1140.00
*On Sunday June 24th we went to visit the mother of the young man that was struck by the police car in pursuit of our son's murderer. She was extremely depressed and was totally heartbroken as may be expected. She also was having difficulty making ends meet and could not even afford to pay for her son's funeral, so we donated $1000.00 dollars to help her through these hard times. We are sure that is what our son would have done if he were here. Please pray for Ms. Anne Marie during her difficult time.
*The next Martial Arts scholarship was awarded to Farez Pharmar of Guardian Martial Arts in Lawrenceville GA. Farez was selected by Master Terry Millwood as the most deserving student with a sincere heart dedicated to learning the martial arts. Scholarship $1000.00
*The Hero Fund also helped two soldiers of the Georgia National Guard who are unemployed and struggling to make ends meet. We authorized a hardship grant of $500.00 for one and $200.00 for the other to assist them with expenses. This was a gift of love to a couple warriors who had served with Master Mitt and has served our country with honor. It was the least we could do for two of Americas finest. It has been requested that their names remain anonymous.
*Five deserving students at Universal Martial Arts received HERO FUND LEGACY Academic Scholarships of $1000.00 each. Recipients were Joshua Nogal, Christian Nogal, Julian Nogal, Jeff Cantilang and Brandon Cantilang. The money is to be used to start their college fund. Yet another way that Master Mitt's Legacy continues.
*Recently The Hero Fund helped the Maroney Family, The family of one of our longtime and loyal students with a Hardship Grant of $500.00 after the father lost his job and needed help meeting family expenses.
* The Hero Fund donated $300 to the Children's Cancer Research Center in the Name of Master Mitt-Chai Lenix.
The Hero/Mitt Lenix memorial fund has managed to help a very diverse group of people in our community and continues to spread the loving caring spirit of our son Master Mitt Lenix. We will continue to see that deserving individuals, who are willing to help themselves get a much needed helping hand and not a hand out.
